It was one of those days where the sun was out, but the wind was deceivingly cold and sharp. Skell hated these days for many reasons. Aside from playing with her hair, this sort of weather just didn't make studying Nobodies bearable outside for long -- and it's not like she was about to stalk the neighborhood Nobodies.
She figured she'd try and toughen herself up a bit -- decked out in her thick red coat and scarf, she was good for at least a couple hours. The streets weren't incredibly easy, but enough that the bustling atmosphere perked her spirits up.
Venturing further downtown where she was most comfortable, she peered inside stores and down alley ways. She wished she could look at someone and just tell that they were a Nobody. They behaved just as humans did. It was supportive of her challenging hypothesis -- just because Nobodies don't have hearts, and because they are conscious beings that develop relationships with people, don't emotions start to develop?
She sighed and decided that it may be best if she just sat down for a bit to draw. Every now and again a stranger sits down on the bench next to her and they engage in random conversation. So long as it isn't a pompous jerk from school...

Could I, could I just find a way? I'd find you everyday and we could alter time. But I've come to find everyone's gone away. So this may be the time for the perfect crime. Yes, this is perfect. X O R N A "Being myself is so....BORING! t h e c h a n g i n g p e r s o n a l i t y Xorna had found a few personalities today. She really had no duties, but Danxiel, her boss, told her to keep her cloak on in case anyone started looking for them. After all, their numbers were very small and she was mainly here to keep an eye on the old Organization. She knew that they were here, yet she knew that Danxiel sent the wrong person. she really didn't care about these people. She just wanted to screw around and take personalities. He knew that that was her only ambition. So for now, Xorna wandered through the streets of REBIRTH, her eyes glowing yellow in hunger from another personality. If there was a Hell, she would be going there for gluttony or greed. She couldn't stop taking them. Not that that mattered to her. She had no emotion about this. After all, she was a Nobody. She continued on her way to nowhere. However, she passed a girl on the bench. She had always liked this bench. It has a good view of what the city really was: pain and anger. But again, she doubted that the girl sitting on it knew that. She stopped and eyed the girl. Red. Lots and lots of red. She made a face and then sighed. She should talk with her. And possibly copy her personality. That would be easy. After all, she looked like a harmless girl. She strolled back up to the bench, hood off her face. She sighed and sat down in a casual matter, her calmer personality taking over, " Sup?" Come day, you'll say you cannot stay. what's more, I'll feel the same. It happens every time. So I've come to find everyone goes away. I'm destined to remain. You were never mine, so you were perfect.

Through the corner of her eye, Skell took notice of a girl who seemed to have found something of interest; however, Skell's gaze never wandered away from her sketchbook -- she was currently drawing a couple of guys she saw at school whom always keep to themselves for the most part. She was good at being discretely observant.
The girl sat down on the bench beside her. Perhaps this could be her first lead to successfully studying Nobodies -- but... most likely not. It will probably serve as just the interesting conversation of the day, though.
"Oh, hey..." Skell lifted her head to look at the girl next to her. She was a pretty one, "Nothing much, really... just sketching away. You?"

Could I, could I just find a way? I'd find you everyday and we could alter time. But I've come to find everyone's gone away. So this may be the time for the perfect crime. Yes, this is perfect. X O R N A "Being myself is so....BORING! t h e c h a n g i n g p e r s o n a l i t y Xorna glanced at her sketchbook, noticing that her targets were the ones she was drawing. Silently, she cursed and them she put on a sickly sweet smile. This girl has to know about her people then if she was so...interested in her targets. After all, who would be so interested in them if they thought they were normal. She allowed her mischievous personality to take over, her eyes now changing to a bright green. She allowed a smirk to gather on her lips and she snatched the sketchbook like a snake would snap its jaws on its prey. She stood up, flipping through pages. Axel, Xigbar, Xemnas. All of them. A cruel laugh erupted from her throat and she tossed the sketchbook at her, " So interested in my people, aren't you? Do you even know what a Nobody simply is?" Her voice sounded cruel and heartless now, revealing a crueler side of her. She started taking off her ribbon from her hair, the white "fabric" turning black now. she wasn't going to attack her. no. She just wanted to tell the girl what she really was, " We are people without hearts. Without emotions. We were once people. Like you. Before Heartless took our hearts from us, Nobodies were created. But there isn't always Nobodies like me...no, there are weaker ones. The ones like me are created with people with strong hearts and will. A will to stay...well "alive"." She glanced at her ribbon, which was twitching almost to wrap around something," I'm risking a lot talking to you...but what can a defenseless girl do about it in this world? After all, they will just think you are crazy. She, then, noticed something. How did she even know about Nobodies. Especially if she was from this world. Her eyes narrowed into slits and she cracked her wrist, allowing the ribbon to flow free and reach towards Skell. She didn't know if it would touch her. Nor did she really care. Her eyes turned red as a violent personality came out, " HOW DO YOU EVEN KNOW ABOUT US!?!?" Come day, you'll say you cannot stay. what's more, I'll feel the same. It happens every time. So I've come to find everyone goes away. I'm destined to remain. You were never mine, so you were perfect.

The girl's sudden change of eye color struck Skell as odd, and then her own eyes grew wide as her sketchbook was snatched away and stood up immediately. That notebook was more precious than anything else she had -- it contained all her notes, her observations, journal entries to keep track of her studies, her drawings. The girl flipped through it more quickly than Skell had anticipated, but readily caught it and held it tightly in her hand.
She stood her ground and just listened to the girl ramble. She squinted in intrigue... "her people." The people she was drawing were like her, and she's a Nobody. Meaning, the people at school she's eyed for a while now are Nobodies. She's been so close all this time, and she didn't even know it!
This girl's petty insult didn't phase Skell. She just highlighted everything there was to a Nobody that she was trying to challenge. How can Nobodies develop relationships with people if they don't have emotions? A connection between one person and another can be defined by an emotion. They couldn't just be indifferent to everyone... or could they? If they could, she'd be proven wrong -- and that's fine, really. But she just finds it so hard to believe...
She was so caught up in her thought that she barely noticed the metal ribbon that was being cracked and whipped before her, up until it was charging right at her. Because she was distracted by her own thoughts, she clumsily was able to evade it, but only just slightly.
"Well aren't you a little riled up..." Skell regained her balance and stuffed her sketchbook in her tan, leather messenger bag she used for school, "Just because you're incredibly open to strangers doesn't mean I am. Although, you've helped me out more than you know..." Skell smiled. These boys, and that one girl, were Nobodies... she'd see them at school! She only ever just saw them, though. No major interactions, as she was serious about her school studies, art and music, and then Nobody studies. Maybe a couple were in her junior class...
"I believe I'll bid you adieu," Skell smiled cutely, with a slight smirk, and started making her way past the multi-personality girl before her.

X O R N A "Being myself is so....BORING! t h e c h a n g i n g p e r s o n a l i t y Xorna glared at Skell as she walked away. Then her eyes flashed to an innocent blue. This wasn't a good thing. Not at all. It meant a more violent side was coming out. But yet, she didn't want to hurt the girl. But something else told her to. She did what she wanted however: run after her and harass her. She stormed towards the girl and wrapped the metal ribbon on the leather bag that she put the sketchbook in. She grinned a wide smile that was way too big for her face and she yanked on the ribbon, breaking the strap for the bag. She loosened her ribbon and she grinned as she pulled back towards her body," Its not like they will know what they are. Why not let them figure it out on their own?" Come day, you'll say you cannot stay. what's more, I'll feel the same. It happens every time. So I've come to find everyone goes away. I'm destined to remain. A tug was felt, and Skell turned her head to inspect what it was, but yelled when she quickly spun to catch her bag as it fell. It still hit the floor; the extent that she grabbed the strap wasn't enough since it was twice as long now. She glared up at the honey-haired girl, then kneeling down to one knee to balance herself as she pulled out her paintbrush. Carefully, she rearranged the strap as if it was still connected, and ran her paintbrush across the leather. Within a matter of seconds, the strap reattached itself, and it looked the same as the moment before it snapped.
"I'm not going to say anything about them being Nobodies..." Skell responded with a hint of frustration, "I'd just like to learn more about them. Maybe become friends with them..."
Replacing the strap to hang on her shoulder, she looked over at the Xorna. Her eyes had changed to blue. Curious... quite curious.
"Is that too much to ask for?" she narrowed her eyes at her, "And why are you so pent up on harassing me? You don't have anything better to do?"

X O R N A "Being myself is so....BORING! t h e c h a n g i n g p e r s o n a l i t y Xorna watched as she fixed the strap on her bag. That was...interesting. Her eyes changed back to their light brown and she crossed her arms over her chest. There was no use in bugging her and she felt the coldness rush back over her body. That pool of nothing. She sighed as the girl spoke and she looked back at her bag. This girl has powers. Interesting. She would tell Danxiel about this later. She felt a cold air start around them and her eyes narrowed. That was a sign to leave. She looked up at the girl and then spoke, her voice now cold and emotionless," I believe it's time to leave." She, then, turned around, only to find a tall man standing behind her, a giant syringe in hand. She silently cursed and she looked at him coldly, " Danxiel..." Danxiel stood there, wearing the same black cloak that Xorna wore. He carried his weapon, the syringe already filled with a potion that will make Skell forget what had happened. He didn't know if he would use it. Not yet. Let the girl's mind wander. He glanced at her and spoke, his voice cold like most Nobodies, " Xorna...its time to leave. Let the girl go. After all, your personalities are changing too much. Go back and rest. Your mission is done." He watched as Xorna pouted, her eyes a ocean blue. He would need to talk with her about her "emotions". He glanced at Skell as Xorna opened up a portal and disappeared. This girl could help them. " What else do you know?" Come day, you'll say you cannot stay. what's more, I'll feel the same. Skell retained her focused gaze on Xorna. But then she felt the cold breeze pick up.
"Ugh... why does it always have to get cold so randomly..." she muttered to herself, holding her scarf closer to her. She felt a bit of relief as Xorna spoke of leaving, and was about to turn away and go on her own way. But then she saw the man appear before Xorna. When'd he get there? It was as though he appeared as she batted her lashes to blink. She examined him closely, eyeing the syringe in his hand.
And then Xorna conjured that portal -- that very same portal that she saw back when she was in Twilight Town. Xorna did say she was a Nobody, but didn't know if she was of the same kind that she saw. Her intrigue heightened...
"What else do you know?" he said, and her eyes flicked up to his. Had he been watching them? Did he just appear from the bushes?
"I don't know much," she began, "in fact, it seems you know more than I do. And thanks to your friend, Xorna, here, I now have a lead."
She squinted her eyes and wrinkled her nose a little. He spoke of a "mission..." what was that about?
"What's your purpose?"

There's something cold and blank behind her smile She's standing on an overpass In a miracle mile "You were from a perfect world A world that threw me away today Today today to run away"
Dąnӽiεl The Poisonous Ruler “One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter.” Danxiel glanced at the girl, a cold look in his eyes. She was asking him questions. He didn't like it. He took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He opened up the pack's lid and took one cigarette out, lighting it once he put the pack away and placed the one out in the open in his mouth. He breathed in the poisonous smoke into his lungs and he sighed, shaking his head. Why did she even want to know? Was she a researcher? Was she someone that would harm them? He didn't know.
But what was their purpose? Their meaning? Their reason for existing. That, he didn't even truly know. But he knew their drive, their need to live. He knew exactly what it as. A cold smile drifted across his lips. A cold, haunting smile. A smile that didn't give a damn. That was, in essence, him. He drew in more smoke into his lungs, feeling the poison dance through his veins. He smirked and then put the cigarette out of his mouth, leaving it in his gloves hand. So she wanted to know, huh?
"So you want to know our purpose? Our purpose to to gain our hearts back...to gain the status of Somebodies. " He glanced around and then he tapped the syringe in his other hand with the cigarette. The cigarette burned some ash on the syringe, but it blew away in the wind. "That's our purpose." Her mouth was an empty cut And she was waiting to fall Just bleeding like a polaroid that Lost all her dolls "You were from a perfect world A world that threw me away today Today today to run away"

Skell watched in disgust as the man took out a pack of cigarettes and lit one right in front of her. She was vehemently against smoking. Her father smoked, and for years she's been trying to get him to quit. With every puff of smoke, a few minutes of your life drifts away from you and brings you that much closer to become one with the earth. But your minutes are already in the form of smoke fusing with the air, so supposedly you're already there...
She felt so tempted to use her fire magic to manipulate the small flame working on the cigarette, turning it to ash. She wanted to burn the cigarette so that it was nothing but, and save a few minutes of his life. But why did she even care about this guy? What is it to her that he's cutting his life short? It was nothing to her. It was just the sight of smoking that bugged her.
"So Nobodies are in search for a heart..." she let that statement sink in. But is having a physical heart necessary? Could you not adapt to live life without one, if you are already capable of living, and breathing, and socializing? She wondered what it was about containing a physical heart within a shell that was so appealing. Is it that Nobodies are conscious, but are really not living life? The guys at school seem to be having fun all the time...
"So you feel as though you are missing something that only a heart can give you. Are you conscious of how life was like before you became a Nobody? If so, what real difference do you feel now? Or were you a Nobody to begin with?" Nothing but caution emanated from this man before her, but her curiosity was taking over her judgment. She hasn't been this lucky to talk to a Nobody on an intellectually serving purpose.
If she just got a couple more answers, then she'd know how to approach the boys at school.
If she just got a couple more answers, then she'd know what to look for in those boys.
If she just got a couple more answers, then she'd know if she was wrong.
The idea of a resolution excited her.

Dąnӽiεl The Poisonous Ruler “One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter.” Danxiel rolled his eyes and placed the cigarette back into his mouth. Her questions were annoying him. Greatly. His eyes narrowed to slits and then he turned on his heel, beginning to walk away,"So many questions..." He started to walk away, but once he was a safe distance away from her, he turned back around. The cigarette was down to its filter and he tossed it on the ground and watched it blow away.
Danxiel glanced at her and then he sighed, taking out another cigarette. He felt like avoiding her question, "You know...being like I am...I don't risk death from smoking. Which is the best situation for me since my blood is poison..." He glanced at her once the cigarette was lit and then he sighed, relaxing, "Some of us were people...some animals...but...we don't know what we were or who we were. The..."old" Organization does remember some things though..." He smirked and then he took in more smoke.

Watching him turn on his heel, Skell was about to do the same. But then he turned again. Indecisive one, wasn't he? It seems as though this man has changed ideas from wanting to hurt her, to amuse her, to ignore her, but now to help her. Even if he answered with bits and pieces, any bit of info was enough to get Skell going.
What he said next was intriguing... his blood being made of poison. She wondered if that was unique to him, or if all Nobodies were like that. They didn't have a heart for blood to be pumped through, after all...
She eyes the cigarette again. Even if it didn't affect his health, it was still pretty damn gross. The fact that no one would want to kiss a smoker was proof enough of that.
"I appreciate the information. I think I have more than enough to work off of," she casted him a smile as she took out her sketchbook and paintrbush, "Catch you around, maybe..." and as she opened her sketchbook, she ran her paintbrush across a page with the image of her house on it. She glowed a warm amber color for but a moment before disappearing in a cracking flash. Oh the fun she'd have at school tomorrow...
Skell out.
